Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • Email address of all authors, the corresponding author email address is written in bold
  • Keywords
  • Title of figures and tables
  • Figures have good resolution and proportion
  • References mentioned in the References list are cited in the text
  • Figure and table names have been cited in the text
  • Manuscript has been spelling and grammar checked

Author Guidelines

Before Writting an Article

Conflict of Interest

All authors are requested to declare that there are none of actual or potential conflict of interest including any financial, personal or other relationships with other people or organizations within three years of beginning the submission.

Submission Declaration

Submission of an article implies that the work described has not been published previously (except in the form of an abstract or as a part of a published lecture or accademic thesis or as an electronic preprint, that is not under consideration for publication elsewhere, that is publication is approved by all authors and tacitly or explicitly by the responsible authorities where the work was carried out, and that, if accepted, it will not be published elsewhere including electronically in the same form, in English or in any language, without the written consent of the copyright-holder.

Changes to Authorship

Before accepted manuscript is published: request to add or remove an author, or to rearrange the author names, must be sent to the editor in chief from the corresponding author including the reason the name should be added or removed, or the author names rearranged and the written confirmation letter from all authors that they agree with the addition, removal or rearrangement. In the case of additional or removal of authors, this includes confirmation from the author being added or removed.

Please note that the publication of accepted manuscript is suspended until authorship has been agreed.

Copyright

Upon acceptance of an article, authors will be asked to complete a Lisence Agreement.

Role of The Funding Source

You are requested to identify who provided financial support for the conduct of the research and/or article preparation and briefly describe the role of the sponsor(s) in study design, collection, analysis and data interpretation, writting a report and decision to submit article. If there is no funding source, this should be stated.

Funding Body Agreement and Policies

Rekayasa Sipil has established agreements and developed policies to allow authors whose articles appear in the journal's issue to comply with potential manuscript archiving requirements as specified as conditions of their grant awards.

Open Access

Rekayasa Sipil is fully open access. All articles will be immediately and permanently free for everyone to read and download. We follow Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY) - let others distribute and copy the article to create extracts, abstracts and other revised versions, adaptations or derivations or form an article (such as translation), to include in a collective work (such as an anthology), to text or data mine article, even for commercial purposes, as long as they credit the author(s), do not represent the author as endorsing their adaptation of the article, and do not modify the article in such a way as to damage the author's honor or reputation.

Language

Please write your text in a good English (American or British but not mixture of these).

Submission

Submission process is totally online and you will be guided stepwise through the creation and uploading of your files. Editor will ask you to provide source files if needed, for further processing after acceptance. All correspondence, including notification of Editor's decision and revision requests will take place by email.

Writting an Article

Preparation

  • Articles should be no longer than 10 pages unless there is a compelling reason to include the additional information.
  • Use MS Word with single-column format. Keep the layout of the text as simple as possible. 
  • To avoid unnecessary errors you are strongly advised to use the 'spell-check' and 'grammar-check' functions of your word processor

Title Page Information

  • Title should concise and informative. Title are often used in information-retrieval systems. Avoid abbreviations and formulae.
  • Author names and affiliations should be written below the Title. Present the author's affiliation addresses below the names. Indicate all affiliations with the lower-case superscript letter immediately after the author's name. Provide also the affiliation address including the country name and email address of each author.
  • Corresponding author should be clearly indicated.
  • Abstract should state briefly the purpose of the research, the principal results and major conclusions. References should be avoided, but if essential, then use citation (reference number in a square bracket). Also, non-standard or uncommon abbreviations should be avoided.
  • Keywords should place immediate after Abstract. Provide 6 keywords in maximum. These keywords will be used for indexing purposes.

Article Content

  • Introduction should be place as Chapter 1. Please clearly establish the context for your study. It should be states at least general and specific background information, description of the gap in your knowledge that the study was designed to fill, statement of study objective and brief summary of study.
  • Research Method should be place as Chapter 2. Please describe a detail informaion regarding the material and research procedure including participants, equipment and materials used, variables studied, actions or reaction of the participants, ethical approval, analysis and statistical tools used. The information on participants should include who, how many, how they were included in the selection, why excluded and adherence to ethical practices, ethical approval, how sample size was calculated and what were sampling techniques. The description on materials should include all materials, measures, equipments, details of special equipment etc. The design of study should include when the study was done, where, how data were collected, type of study for e.g. cross sectional, comparative, randomized etc. The step by step details of how the study 'progressed', so as the reader understands the logical flow and can replicate similar study based on the description provided in this section.
  • Result and Discussion should be place as Chapter 3. Please provide information about the research result information, including measurement of data, variables, treatments and statistical analysis. Author may use Graphics and Tables to display research data, show trends or relationships or represent exact value. This chapter should provide information regarding the significance of your findings and gap filling in knowledge.
  • Conclusion should be place as Chapter 4. The author should summarize the study in brief including research significance of research finding, contribution to knowledge and implication for further research or action.
  • References should be provided after Conclusion. Please ensure thet every reference cited in the text is present in the reference list. Citation of a references as "in press" implies that the item has been accepted for publication. Indicate references by number(s) in square brackets in line with the text. List number of references (number in square brackets) in the list in the order in which they appear in the text. Author is sugested to use reference manager application (such as Mendeley) in organizing the references. List of references should at least provide informations including author names, year of publication, article title, name of journal/other publisher, volume, issue, pages or other important information.
  • Figures or Graphics should be provided in a suitable resolution and proportional dimension for the content. All figures ar graphics should be cited in the text near them. Give number and title below the figures in accordance with their appearance in the text. Avoid print-screen or screenshoot in order to maintain the figure quality.
  • Tables should be numbered in accordance with their appearance in the text. Avoid only one table row (for little data information, please write in text only). Write the data source below each table. Avoid print-screen or screenshoot. Please re-write reference's table to maintain the resolution.
  • Math formulae should be present in simple and in line of normal text. Variables are presented in Italics. Use number in bracket in accordance with their appearance in the text.
  • Acknowledgement should be collate in separate section at the end of the article before references. Do not include them inside the article content. List here those individuals who provided help during the research (e.g., provodong language help, witing assistance or proof reading the article, etc.)

After Submission

Manuscript revision

If Editor request the Authors to revise the manuscript, the revision should be submitted before the due date written in the revision request email. Author should highlight (using yellow highlight color to the revised part). Please provide  response letter if necessary and submit it with the manuscript revision. 

After Acceptance

Proof

  • Manuscript proof (as PDF file) will be sent by email to the corresponding author. Authors may list the corrections (if any) and submit it to journal's OJS system. Please provide your correction within 3 days after the email has been sent.
  • Proofreading is solely your responsibility.
  • Rekayasa Sipil may proceed with the publication of your article if no response is received.
